1. A method of treating skin to lessen or reduce wrinkling, comprising:
- removing a release liner from a dermal delivery device, the delivery device including a layer having adhesive and powdered or granulated ascorbic acid with an acidity between pH 4 and pH 7, an oxygen impermeable release liner backing on a first side of the layer, and a release liner on a second side of the layer opposite the first side;
applying the delivery device to the skin by contacting the layer with the skin and applying an application force to the backing to adhere the device to the skin;
allowing moisture from the skin to contact the layer to infuse the ascorbic acid into the skin to lessen or reduce skin wrinkling; and
removing the delivery device from the skin.

Abstract
Skin care compositions and methods are provided for improving the appearance of skin affected by aging, photodamage and/or oxidative stress. Specifically, adhesive materials containing cosmetically active ingredients, e.g., one or more antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and/or E, or moisturizers are applied in concentrated dry powdered form to target areas including the frownline area of the forehead, the front of the neck, the crows-feet area near the eyes, the upper lip and the nasolabial area using a transdermal patch having an acidity approximating human skin acidity of 5.5, preferably by an appropriate ratio of ascorbic acid and ascorbate salts.

1. A method of treating skin to lessen or reduce wrinkling, comprising:
- removing a release liner from a dermal delivery device, the delivery device including a layer having adhesive and powdered or granulated ascorbic acid with an acidity between pH 4 and pH 7, an oxygen impermeable release liner backing on a first side of the layer, and a release liner on a second side of the layer opposite the first side;
applying the delivery device to the skin by contacting the layer with the skin and applying an application force to the backing to adhere the device to the skin;
allowing moisture from the skin to contact the layer to infuse the ascorbic acid into the skin to lessen or reduce skin wrinkling; and

A dermal delivery device for topical application of a treatment for skin wrinkles, said device comprising a backing substrate, a matrix containing powdered or granulated ascorbic acid for lessening or reducing skin wrinkles, said matrix having an acidity between pH 4 and pH 7 and an adhesive suitable for facial skin use, said matrix being atop said backing substrate, and a release liner contacted on said matrix, wherein said delivery device has a shape adapted for a target area selected from the group consisting of the upper lip, the nasolabial fold area, the lower forehead, the front portion of the neck, the outer corners of the eyes, underneath the eyes and the back of the hands.
