1. An educational method which provides an audio-visual system comprising the steps of:
- loading courseware into a plurality of student workstations and a teacher workstation;
presenting, at said teacher workstation, a plurality of menus for administration of the system;
selecting one of a plurality of presentation modes from a student workstation;
retrieving and presenting at the student workstation audio-visual material based on said selection step;
displaying, at the end of said presenting step, a plurality of questions based on said audio-visual material;
comparing answers to said questions to correct answers, andretrieving and presenting, on the basis of said comparing step, audio visual material relating to questions answered incorrectly.

15. An educational system which uses an audio-visual format to convey coursework, the system comprising:

a plurality of student workstations for displaying multimedia coursework and for presenting a first set of questions corresponding to the coursework; and at least one teacher workstation for communicating with the plurality of student workstations;
whereinthe teacher workstation is used to administer the plurality of student workstations, monitor the coursework and the questions, and gather information regarding the coursework and questions; and
