A consumer data device comprising credit-card sized casing containing a memory for data and transaction retention, a first LCD display for displaying information, a second LCD display for displaying bar-codes to be read by a bar-code scanner, means to scroll through stored information, and a data communication link wherein information contained in the bar-codes displayed on the second LCD display correspond to the information displayed on the first LCD display.
