1. A broadhead for an arrow or the like comprising:

  • a body portion having a circular cross-section and defining a proximal end and a distal end, a post member extending from the proximal end having an outer diameter less than an outer diameter of the body portion, and an outer peripheral surface protruding from the proximal end concentrically about said post member thereby defining a circular gap between said outer peripheral surface and said post member;

    a pointed tip at the distal end of said body portion opposite said post member; and

    a replaceable cutting blade assembly having at least one cutting blade movable from a retracted position to an expanded position, and a compressible ring for holding said at least one cutting blade, said compressible ring having a first uncompressed diameter larger than an outer diameter of said circular gap, said compressible ring being insertable within said circular gap to define a second compressed diameter to secure said cutting blade assembly to said body portion.
