1. A method of determining the receipt of an advertisement, the steps comprising:

  • receiving from a remote location digital data comprising programming, an advertisement and advertisement reconciliation data;

    said advertisement reconciliation data comprising the scheduled air timeof said advertisement, along with timing information related to the actual air time of said advertisement;

    using said timing information to determine the actual air time of said advertisement; and

    passing at least some of said advertisement reconciliation data to a processor.
