Abstract
A blood vessel dilator has an inner tube defining a first passageway therein, an outer tube over the inner tube and forming a second passageway, and a dilating member communicating with the second passageway. The outer tube is constituted by an inner tubular component having a high rigidity, and an outer tubular component covering the inner tubular component. The forward end portion of the outer tubular component protrudes from the distal end of the inner tubular component, and its distal end portion is diametrically constricted to closely contact the inner tube and extends near the distal end of the inner tube.

11. A pre-dilator for pre-dilating blood vessel, comprising:
-
an inner tube defining therein a passageway open at its distal end; an outer tube mounted over said inner tube; and an opening communicating with said passageway; wherein the inner tube has a relatively small outer diameter so as to pass through a stenosis portion in a body cavity;
the outer tube has an inner diameter and an outer diameter sufficiently larger than an outer diameter of the inner tube, a distal end portion of the outer tube being contracted, brought into close contact with an outer peripheral surface of the inner tube and extending to a vicinity of the distal end portion of the inner tube;
the inner and outer diameters of the outer tube, which are formed larger than the outer diameter of the inner tube, are sized so as to transmit a pushing force or torque applied to a proximal end portion of the blood vessel dilator to the distal end portion of the inner tube, thereby enabling pre-dilation of the stenosis portion. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 22)
