1. A method for differentiating between ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation, the method including the steps of:

  • forming a first sensor for placement in sensory association with the heart for producing a first signal;

    forming a second sensor for placement in sensory association with the heart for producing a second signal;

    forming a signal receiving apparatus for receiving said first and second signals and for producing configurations based upon said first and second signals;

    forming a coherence determining apparatus for determining coherence of said signals based on said configuration;

    distinguishing between ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation;

    causing said apparatus for receiving said signals to form configurations based on said first and second signal; and

    causing said apparatus for determining coherence to determine whether or not coherence between said configurations exists.
