Abstract
A silicone composite vascular graft especially well suited as an arteriovenous (A-V) graft fistula for dialysis application. The graft has the ability to seal around needle puncture holes without externally applied pressure, excellent anti-kink, anti-crush and strength properties, and a smooth non-porous inner surface which reduces thrombus deposition and enhances the graft wall compliance or elasticity.

a. a fibrous porous wall providing a flexible structure for tissue ingrowth and anchoring of the graft in the surrounding tissue; b. at least a portion of said fibrous porous wall being comprised of an elastomeric material such as silicone or polyurethane; c. said elastomeric material providing resilience to resist crushing or kinking of the graft; and
,d. a spiral bead or rings of polymeric material, said bead or rings providing enhanced kink resistance and crush resistance to the graft.
