Abstract

A peristaltic pump tube holder includes a body that supports a flexible tubing loop in an erect, outwardly bowed position extending from the body for engagement with a peristaltic pump rotor. The holder also includes a receptacle carrying the body. The receptacle includes a wall forming a chamber that covers the flexible tubing loop and at least partially shields it from contact. The chamber further serves, during engagement between the tubing loop and a peristaltic pump rotor, as a cover for the peristaltic pump rotor.

Claims

1. A peristaltic pump tube holder for a flexible tubing loop constructed and arranged for removable association with a peristaltic pump rotor comprising

a support panel having a top surface and a bottom surface,

the flexible tubing loop being supported by the support panel on the top surface,

a wall extending above the top surface and forming a chamber enclosing the flexible tubing loop, the chamber thereby serving as a shield for the flexible tubing loop, and

an opening formed in the top and bottom surfaces which communicates with the chamber to removably receive the peristaltic pump rotor into the chamber for engagement with the flexible tubing loop within the chamber, the chamber thereby also serving as a removable cover for the peristaltic pump rotor.

2. A peristaltic pump tube holder according to claim 1 and further comprising tubing supported by the support panel on the top surface outside the chamber to form a liquid conveying circuit communicating with the flexible tubing loop.

3. A peristaltic pump tube holder according to claim 2 wherein the tubing is separable from the support panel.

4. A peristaltic pump tube holder according to claim 2 and further including a container attached to the tubing.

5. A peristaltic pump tube holder according to claim 2 and further including a container attached to the tubing supported by the support panel on the top surface outside the chamber, which container is separable from the support panel.

6. A peristaltic pump tube holder according to claim 2 wherein the tubing includes at least one in-line element.

7. A peristaltic pump tube holder according to claim 2 wherein the tubing includes at least one in-line element supported by the support panel on the top surface outside the chamber, which in-line element is separable from the support panel.
