1. A compound having the structural formula (A) ##STR15## in enantiomerically pure form, wherein:

  • R is selected from the group consisting of;

    ##STR16## in which R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and lower alkyl, R3 is lower alkyl or --(CH2)n --C6 H5, and n is an integer in the range of 0 to 6 inclusive;

    R'"'"' is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, hydroxyl, carboxyl, alkoxy, amino and halogen; and

    R" is hydrogen or a halogen substituent,or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof.
