1. A method of treating non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus in a patient in need thereof, comprising coadministering to the patient(a) a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocking agent;

  • and(b) a calcium supplement,wherein the ratio by weight of elemental calcium to dihydropyridine calcium channel blocking agent is at least 40;

    1, and the dihydropyridine calcium channel blocking agent and the calcium supplement are present in respective amounts whereby, in combination, they are synergistically effective in treating the non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus in the patient.
