Method of processing messages to be transmitted for a data processing arrangement
First Claim
1. A method of processing messages in an individual user station connected to a bus line adapted to interconnect a plurality of individual user stations, the method comprising the steps of:
- causing each message to include an identifier, which contains information as to the content of the message and determines the priority of the message on the bus line compared to other messages;
comparing the identifier to a list stored in the individual user station and, in response to said comparison, assigning an internal processing priority independent of the priority of the message on the bus line; and
,causing the internal processing priority to determine the sequence of messages ready for transmission in the individual user station at every point of time.

Abstract
A method is disclosed for the operation of a data processing system for motor vehicles including at least two computers and a line connecting the computers for the transmission of messages. This line permits a fast and reliable data transmission between the computers installed in the motor vehicle, taking into account the specific requirements of a controller-coupling in the motor vehicle. An embodiment is provided which describes in detail the interface between the individual computers and the line linking the computers, and with the aid of which a controller-coupling is realized in the vehicle.

8. A method of processing messages in an individual user station connected to a bus line adapted to interconnect a plurality of individual user stations, the method comprising the steps of:
-
causing each message to include an identifier, which contains information as to the content of the message and determines the priority of the message on the bus line compared to other messages; comparing the identifier to a list stored in the individual user station and, in response to said comparison, assigning an internal processing priority independent of the priority of the message on the bus line; performing a search process to identify a first message which has the highest priority and only considering said first message which has the highest priority and only considering said first message for transmission on the bus line; and
,if said search process later identifies a second message having a higher priority than said first message, then said second message displaces said first message, so that the internal processing priority determines the sequence of messages ready for transmission in the individual user station at every point in time. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)
