Abstract

A user I/F unit 200 transmits an instruction given by a user to an access management unit 100 and displays data on a monitor 76. The access management unit 100 transfers requirements to a communication control unit 300 and a data management unit 400 in response to the instruction from the user, transfers data from a communications host to the data management unit 400, and outputs data from a database 410 to the user I/F unit 200. The data management unit 400 writes data into the database 410 and reads storage data from the database 410 in response to the requirement from the access management unit 100. Data transmitted from the communications host are sorted out according to communication services and stored in the database 410. The communication control unit 300 translates the requirement from the access management unit 100 to a menu number representing each communication service available from the communications host or a command and sends the translated requirement to a communication I/F unit 500. This structure enables input data to be sorted out and stored without any overlap.

Claims

1. A communications terminal connected to a server, in which specific data are stored, via a network, said communications terminal comprising:

storage means for storing at least part of the specific data as storage data;

access means for accessing said server and receiving at least part of the specific data; and

difference data specifying means for specifying a non-coincident portion of the received data, which does not coincide with the storage data stored in said storage means, as difference data.

2. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, said communications terminal further comprising:

writing means for writing specific information included in the specified difference data, as well as attributive information related to the specific information, into said storage means.

3. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 2, said communications terminal further comprising:

reading means for sorting out and reading out the specific information written in said storage means, based on the attributive information related to the specific information; and

display means for displaying the specific information sorted out and read out by said reading means.

4. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 3, wherein said writing means comprises identification information addition means for adding identification information, which identifies a new piece of information, to the specific information in the process of writing the specific information included in the difference data into said storage means.

5. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 4, said communications terminal further comprising:

identification information retrieving means for retrieving the specific information with the identification information added thereto, among all pieces of information written in said storage means,

wherein said display means comprises means for, when the retrieved specific information is included in pieces of information to be displayed, displaying the retrieved specific information to be distinguishable from information without the identification information.

6. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 4, said communications terminal further comprising:

input means for inputting an instruction to display new pieces of information; and

identification information retrieving means for retrieving the specific information with the identification information added thereto, among all pieces of information written in said storage means, based on the input instruction, wherein said display means displays the retrieved specific information.

7. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, said communications terminal further comprising:

update checking means for carrying out an update check of the specific data when said access means accesses said server,

wherein said access means receives at least part of the specific data when said update checking means determines that the specific data have been updated as a result of the update check.

8. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, wherein said access means accesses said server, based on information representing an address of the specific data.

9. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, wherein said access means comprises link data receiving means for, when link data related to the specified difference data exists, accessing a particular server, in which the link data are stored, via said network and receiving the link data from said particular server, based on information representing an address of the link data and being included in the specified difference data.

A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, wherein said access means comprises link data receiving means for, when link data related to the specified difference data exists, accessing a particular server, in which the link data are stored, via said network and receiving the link data from said particular server, based on information representing an address of the link data and being included in the specified difference data,

said communications terminal further comprising:

writing means for writing specific information included in the specified difference data, as well as information expressed by the link data received with respect to the difference data, into said storage means; and

display means for displaying the specific information included in the difference data and the information expressed by the link data, which are both written in said storage means.

11. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, said communications terminal further comprising:

information retrieving means for retrieving particular information that satisfies a specified condition, among specific information included in the specified difference data; and

writing means for writing the retrieved particular information into said storage means.

A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, wherein said difference data specifying means determines coincidence of each portion of the received data with the storage data, based on determination of whether or not attributive information included in the received data coincides with attributive information included in the storage data.

13. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 3, wherein said reading means sorts out and reads out the specific information written in said storage means, according to keywords included in the specific information.

14. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 1, said communications terminal further comprising:

writing means for sorting out specific information included in the specified difference data, according to a specified criterion and writing the sorted-out specific information into said storage means.

15. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 14, wherein said storage means has a directory tree corresponding to a data storage structure in said server,

said writing means sorting out the specific information included in the difference data corresponding to the data storage structure in said server, and writing the sorted-out specific information into corresponding directories in said storage means.

16. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 3, wherein said reading means sorts out and reads out the specific information written in said storage means, for every communication service supplied by said server.

17. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 3, wherein said reading means sorts out and reads out the specific information written in said storage means, according to addresses of the specific information in said server.

18. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 3, wherein said reading means sorts out and reads out the specific information written in said storage means, according to at least either one of a date and a time when the specific information is received.

19. A communications terminal connected to a server, which can supply communication services, via a network, said communications terminal comprising:

storage means for storing information;

access means for accessing said server and receiving information transferred from said server;

writing means for writing the received information into said storage means;

input means for inputting an instruction to participate in a particular communication service;

particular communication service start requiring means for requiring said server to start the particular communication service, based on the input instruction;

particular communication service stop requiring means for, when said access means receives title information with respect to the particular communication service transferred from said server and said writing means writes the title information into said storage means, requiring said server to stop the particular communication service;

reading means for reading the title information from said storage means; and

display means for displaying the title information read from said storage means.

20. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 19, wherein said particular communication service start requiring means comprises:

means for, when an instruction is given through said input means to transfer text information corresponding to a specific piece of title information, which is selected among the title information displayed on said display means, requiring said server to start the specific communication service again,

said writing means comprising;

means for, when said access means receives title information with respect to the particular communication service newly transferred from said server, writing a non-coincident portion of the newly received title information, which does not coincide with the title information stored in said storage means, into said storage means,

said communications terminal further comprising;

text information transfer requiring means for, when said the non-coincident portion is written into said storage means, changing attributive information included in the specific piece of title information and requiring said server to transfer text information corresponding to the specific piece of title information based on the changed attributive information.

21. A communications terminal connected to a server, which can supply a plurality of communication services, via a network, said communications terminal comprising:

storage means for storing requirements with respect to the plurality of communication services, which are possibly given to said server;

reading means for reading the requirements from said storage means;

sorting-out means for sorting out the requirements read from said storage means according to the plurality of communication services; and

transfer means for transferring the sorted out requirements to said server.

22. A communications terminal in accordance with claim 21, wherein said sorting-out means comprises means for, when identical requirements exist, unifying the identical requirements into one requirement.

23. A communications terminal connected to a server via a network, said communications terminal comprising:

storage means for storing information;

access means for accessing said server and receiving information transferred from said server; and

writing means for sorting out the received information according to a specified criterion and writing the sorted-out information into said storage means, in the course of access.

24. A communications terminal connected to a server via a network, said communications terminal comprising:

storage means for storing information;

access means for accessing said server and receiving information transferred from said server;

writing means for writing the received information into said storage means;

reading means for reading the written information from said storage means; and

transfer requiring means for, when a certain piece of information which said reading means tries to read out does not exist in said storage means, requiring said server to transfer the certain piece of information.
