1. A method of operating an intruder detector system comprising:

  • (a) deploying plural intruder sensors in or adjacent a region to be protected,(b) transmitting signals from each sensor to a processor, said signals relating to at least one local environmental ambient condition,(c) processing said signals to determine a common ambient condition associated with each respective one of said intruder sensors,(d) automatically transmitting a control signal resulting from the determination of the common ambient condition to each of said sensors, and(e) automatically adjusting each of said sensors in response to said control signal to substantially vary detection parameters thereof.
