1. A pump comprising:
- a frame adapted to rotate;
a chamber formed in said frame;
an outlet formed in said frame;
a piston means in gas communication with said outlet and adapted for reciprocal movement for exerting a pumping action for the discharge of gas through said outlet and out of said frame whenever said piston means is reciprocated; and
reciprocating means, disposed in said chamber and coupled to said piston means, responsive to rotation of said frame, for causing reciprocal movement of the piston means, said reciprocating means comprising a pendulum pivotally mounted and freely movable within said chamber and operatively connected to said piston means, the length of a pendulum arm of said pendulum and the point about which said pendulum pivots being selected so that said pendulum is capable of resonant oscillation in said chamber during rotation of said frame at substantially all rotational speeds of said frame, the pendulum being adapted to drive said piston means to cause reciprocal movement of the piston means.

Abstract
Disclosed is a tuned resonant oscillating mass pump, and particularly a pump structure and assembly which can be conveniently and readily mounted inside automotive tires for the purposes of maintaining optimum tire pressure and generating of electrical power from the movement of the tuned oscillating mass in such pumps. The oscillating mass can be a pendulum or a freely moving weight or a ball rolling within an arcuate chamber.
