1. An electrical connector assembly including a housing having a plurality of contacts disposed along an elongate opening;

  • a flexible substrate having a width corresponding to the length of the opening of the housing, and having conductive traces on one surface thereof corresponding to the contacts in the housing; and

    a guide member having a plate portion to be disposed in the flexible substrate which is bent in a generally U-shaped about the plate portion with the one surface outside, and to be inserted into the opening of the housing, the connector assembly being characterized in that;

    the housing includes a ground conductive member at least at one end thereof;

    the flexible substrate is formed with a ground conductor on the other surface thereof; and

    the guide member is a conductive member adapted to further provide a connection to ground for the assemblywhereby the contacts and the conductive traces are electrically connected by force exerted by the guide member on the flexible substrate and the ground conductor of the substrate is connected to the ground conductive member of the housing by the guide member.
