1. A molded, extruded or formed phosphorescent plastic article having a laser marked indicia thereon and having a composition that comprises:

  • (i) about 50% to about 99% by weight of a thermoplastic or a thermosetting resin;

    (ii) about 1% to about 50% by weight of a phosphorescent phosphor pigment;

    (iii) about 0.001% to about 20% by weight of a laser energy absorbing additive; and

    (iv) optionally zero to about 10% by weight of a lubricating agent, zero to about 2% by weight of a whitening pigment and zero to about 20% by weight of an inert filler.
