Abstract

An organic EL device, including an anode and a cathode, and at least one organic luminescent layer containing a compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein: X=S, or O

R₁, and R₂ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, aryl or carbocyclic systems;

R₃, and R₄ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or a branched or unbranched 5 or 6 member substituent ring connecting with R₁, R₂ respectively; and

R₅ and R₆ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, which are branched or unbranched.

Claims

1. An organic EL device, comprising an anode and a cathode, and at least one organic luminescent layer containing a compound of the formula:

##STR20## wherein;

X=S, or O

R₁, and R₂ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, aryl or carbocyclic systems;

R₃, and R₄ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or a branched or unbranched 5 or 6 member substituent ring connecting with R₁, R₂ respectively; and

R₅ and R₆ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, which are branched or unbranched.

2. An organic EL device, comprising an anode and a cathode, and at least one organic luminescent layer containing a compound of the formula:

##STR21## wherein;

X=S,or O

R₁, and R₂ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, aryl or carbocyclic systems; and

R₃, and R₄ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or a branched or unbranched 5 or 6 member substituent ring connecting with R₁, R₂ respectively.

3. The organic EL device according to claim 2 wherein R₁, R₂, R₃ and R₄ are methyl, ethyl, propyl, n-butyl, i-propyl;

or aryl.

4. The organic EL device according to claim 2 wherein R₁ is connected to R₃ and R₂ is connected to R₄.

5. An organic EL device, comprising an anode and a cathode, and at least one organic luminescent layer containing a compound of the formula:

##STR22## wherein;

R₁, R₂, R₃, and R₄ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms or aryl;

X is O or S; and

R₅ and R₆ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, which are branched or unbranched.

6. An organic EL device, comprising an anode and a cathode, and at least one organic luminescent layer containing a compound of the formula:

##STR23## wherein;

R₁, R₂, R₃, and R₄ are individually alkyl of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms or aryl; and

X is O or S.
