1. A method for controlling an evaporator temperature of an air conditioner as a function of the outside dew point, comprising the acts of:

  • determining an air temperature (TA) and a dew point temperature (TP) of incoming air drawn in from outside by the air conditioner;

    determining an evaporator demand temperature (TVA) without reheating from an interior temperature setpoint information;

    setting the evaporator temperature (TV) to a setpoint (TVS); and

    choosing the setpoint (TVS) within presettable temperature limits as the smaller value of the evaporator demand temperature (TVA) and the difference between the air temperature (TA) and the dew point temperature (TP) of the incoming air.
