multiplexing means for multiplexing optically amplified light from said plurality of optical amplifying means.

10. A method for equalizing gain, comprising the steps of:

optically amplifying each of a plurality of separate divisional wavelength groups; restricting one or more of said optically amplified divisional wavelength groups to an optical wavelength band; and multiplexing said restricted one or more of said optically amplified divisional wavelength groups and said optically amplified divisional wavelength groups which are not restricted.
