- defining in a MIB at least one client object being operative to maintain information about a client server;
defining in the MIB at least one source object being operative to maintain information about a source server;
implementing the MIB in an agent;
associating the agent with a server to be managed;
sending a time synchronization management signal to the agent; and
accessing one of the source object and the client object in response to the time synchronization management signal.

Abstract
A method and system for managing time synchronization services. The system uses standard management protocols to interface with a time synchronization management information base, which in turn interfaces with a time synchronization services module. A uniform and standard mechanism for managing time synchronization services is provided, which includes a user interface which eliminates the need to learn console commands and eases the administration of time synchronization services.
