1. A method of providing a stator assembly for an electric motor, the method including:

  • providing a plurality of individual core members,providing a connecting structure composed of magnetic field isolating material to connect said core members with respect to each other and covering at least a portion of opposing surfaces of each of said plurality of core members, thereby forming a generally annular core assembly such that adjacent core member are disposed in non-contacting relation; and

    performing an outside type winding operation to wind wire about said covered portions of the opposing surfaces of said core members.
