1. A bioinformatics research system, comprising:
- at least a first computer running a multi-platform object oriented programming language, and at least a second computer storing biological data, the second computer providing the first computer with application programs at runtime for creation and manipulation of the biological data wherein at least one of the second computer and a third computer being operative as a server for the bioinformatics research system, the server providing the first computer with a list of objects at run time, the list of objects including services that the server can perform, wherein the objects are represented by names of Java client classes by name and the first computer can invoke the services causing the server to instantiate Java client classes by name at run time; and
a network architecture interconnecting the computers, the network architecture allowing objects to transparently communicate with each other;
wherein the bioinformnatics research system provides for integrating and organizing the biological data to facilitate biological research.
