An ink composition comprising a pigment, a glycol ether, a water-soluble emulsion, and water, the pigment being dispersible and/or soluble in water without a dispersant, the glycol ether being one member or a mixture of at least two members selected from a group consisting of diethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, triethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, propylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, and dipropylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether.
