1. A spectroreflectometry oxygenation measuring device, comprising:

  • a light source for producing a light beam having a predetermined spectral bandwidth;

    a first optical system for propagating the light beam from the light source to a two-dimensional area of the fundus of a patient'"'"'s eye, the light beam being reflected at least in part by the fundus of the patient'"'"'s eye to produce a reflected light beam;

    a detector unit for detecting the spectral content of the reflected light beam and for producing a signal indicative of the spectral content of said reflected light beam; and

    a second optical system for propagating the reflected light beam from the fundus of the patient'"'"'s eye to the detector unit, wherein said second optical system comprises;

    an optical scanning sub-system for scanning a plurality of points of the two-dimensional area of the fundus of the patient'"'"'s eye, said optical scanning sub-system comprising;

    optical elements for transmitting to the detector unit only a portion of the reflected light beam corresponding to the point of said two-dimensional area being scanned to thereby conduct at said point a spectroreflectometry oxygenation measurement.
