1. A method of forming a revascularization channel in a desired region of a wall of a patient'"'"'s heart, comprising:

  • a) providing an elongated shaft having proximal and distal ends and an RF energy emitter located at the distal end;

    b) introducing the elongated shaft into the body of the patient and directing the RF energy emitter to the desired region of the heart wall wherein the revascularization channel is to be formed; and

    c) supplying RF energy to the RF energy emitter to form a revascularization channel in a myocardial layer of the patient'"'"'s heart wall.
