51. A method of obtaining DNA encoding a plant polyphenol oxidase, said method comprising:
-
selecting a DNA molecule encoding a plant polyphenol oxidase, said DNA molecule having a nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO;
1, SEQ ID NO;
5, SEQ ID NO;
14, and SEQ ID NO;
17;designing an oligonucleotide probe for a plant polyphenol oxidase based on the nucleotide sequence of the selected DNA molecule; probing a genomic or cDNA library of a plant with the oligonucleotide probe; and obtaining clones from said library that are recognized by said oligonucleotide probe, so as to obtain DNA encoding a plant polyphenol oxidase.
