1. A heated water dispensing apparatus for dispensing water at a selected temperature comprising:

  • a reservoir for retaining water;

    a controller;

    a heater coupled to said reservoir and said controller for controllably heating the water in the reservoir;

    a heated water inlet valve coupled to said controller and said reservoir for controlling the flow of heated water from a heated water source;

    an unheated water inlet valve coupled to said controller and said reservoir for controlling the flow of unheated water from an unheated water source;

    a dispense valve coupled to said controller and communicating with said reservoir for controllably dispensing water from said reservoir;

    a temperature sensor coupled to said controller and said reservoir for sensing the temperature or water in the reservoir and generating a temperature control signal relating to the temperature sensed; and

    a temperature selector coupled to said controller for selecting a temperature of water to be produced and generating a selection control signal corresponding to the selected temperature;

    said controller receiving said temperature control signal and said selection control signal and controllably operating said heater, said heated water inlet valve and said unheated water inlet valve in accordance with the received signals to produce water of the selected temperature in the reservoir, said controller closing said dispense valve while water of the selected temperature is being produced to prevent dispensing of water from said reservoir before water of the selected temperature has been produced.
