1. An electronic purse comprising:
- at least two IC card connectors each of which is adapted to connect an IC card storing electronic money information;
an IC card detector which detects connection of any said IC card;
a controller which controls reading or writing of electronic money information from or into any said IC card connected to said IC card connector;
an external device connecting terminal which connects an external device; and
a remittance path switch which is selectable between a first remittance path for transferring electronic money information between two said IC card connectors, and a second remittance path for transferring electronic money information between said IC card connector and said external device connecting terminal, wherein when said IC card detector detects connections of two said IC cards, said controller automatically controls selection of said switch to select said first remittance path for transferring electronic money information between two said IC card connectors connecting two said IC cards concerned.

A processor 29 automatically sets a direction of transferring electronic money information depending on the existence of IC cards 1a, 1b connected to IC card connecting portions 11a, 11b, and the existence of an external device connected to an external device connecting terminal 8, thus making instructing operations for transferring electronic money information easier.

1. An electronic purse comprising:

at least two IC card connectors each of which is adapted to connect an IC card storing electronic money information;
an IC card detector which detects connection of any said IC card;
a controller which controls reading or writing of electronic money information from or into any said IC card connected to said IC card connector;
an external device connecting terminal which connects an external device; and
a remittance path switch which is selectable between a first remittance path for transferring electronic money information between two said IC card connectors, and a second remittance path for transferring electronic money information between said IC card connector and said external device connecting terminal, wherein when said IC card detector detects connections of two said IC cards, said controller automatically controls selection of said switch to select said first remittance path for transferring electronic money information between two said IC card connectors connecting two said IC cards concerned. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)

a transmitting direction selector which selects a transmitting direction between two said IC card connectors connecting two said IC cards concerned.

a display which displays a menu for selecting the transmitting direction between two said IC card connectors connecting two said IC cards concerned.

a lump-sum remittance button which gives instructions for sending all the electronic money information stored in the IC card, wherein when operation of the lump-sum remittance button is detected, said controller sends all the electronic money information stored in said IC card concerned to the external device connected to said external device connecting terminal.

6. The electronic purse according to claim 2, further comprising:

a lump-sum drawing button which gives instructions for receiving all the electronic money information stored in the external device connected to the external device connecting terminal, wherein when operation of the lump-sum drawing button is detected, said controller stores all the electronic money information stored in said external device in said IC card concerned connected to said IC card connector.

7. The electronic purse according to claim 6, wherein
when operation of the lump-sum drawing button is detected, said controller receives a value of the electronic money information stored in said the external device connected to said external device connecting terminal, to display it as a balance on a display unit, and when operation of the lump-sum drawing button is detected once again, said controller preforms control processing so that all the electronic money information displayed as the balance is received by said IC card through said external device connecting terminal.

an IC card detector which detects connection of any said IC card;
a controller which controls reading or writing of electronic money information from or into any said IC card connected to said IC card connector;
an external device connecting terminal which connects an external device;
an external device detector which detects connection of said external device; and
a remittance path switch which is selectable between a first remittance path for transferring electronic money information between two said IC card connectors, and a second remittance path for transferring electronic money information between said IC card connector and said external device connecting terminal, wherein when said IC card detector detects connection of one said IC card and said external device, said controller controls selection of said switch to select said second remittance path for transferring electronic money information between said IC card connector connecting said IC card concerned and said external device connecting terminal. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

a transmitting direction selector which selects a transmitting direction between said IC card connector connecting one said IC card concerned and said external device connecting terminal.

a lump-sum remittance button which gives instructions for lump-sum sending of all the electronic money information stored in the IC card, wherein when operation of the lump-sum remittance button is detected, said controller sends all the electronic money information stored in said IC card concerned to the external device connected to said external device connecting terminal.

a lump-sum drawing button which gives instructions for receiving all the electronic money information stored in the external device connected to the external device connecting terminal, wherein when operation of the lump-sum drawing button is detected, said controller stores all the electronic money information stored in said external device in said IC card concerned connected to said IC card connector.

14. The electronic purse according to claim 13, wherein
when operation of the lump-sum drawing button is detected, said controller receives a value of the electronic money information stored in said the external device connected to said external device connecting terminal, to display it as a balance on a display unit, and when operation of the lump-sum drawing button is detected once again, said controller performs control processing so that all the electronic money information displayed as the balance is received by said IC card through said external deice connecting terminal.

15. An electronic purse comprising:

an IC card connector which is adapted to connect an IC card storing electronic money information;
a controller which controls reading or writing of electronic money information from or into the IC card connected to said IC card connector;
an external device connecting terminal which connects an external device;
a transaction button which gives instructions for sending and receiving electronic money information to and from said IC card;
numerical input button adapted to allow input of a value of electronic money information to be handled;
an instruction decision button which is adapted to allow input of decision instructions;
a remittance direction detector which detects electronic money information transfer direction data inputted from the external device through the external device connecting terminal; and
a transfer direction selector which selects a direction of transferring electronic money information in relation to said IC card, wherein when said instruction decision button is operated while said numerical input means is not operated after operation of said transaction button is detected, said controller sets said transfer direction selector in accordance with electronic money information transfer direction data detected by said remittance direction detector.
