1. A method of promoting healing of a body wound, wherein the body includes an interior body region, which is adjacent to the wound and which extends within the body and away from the wound, comprising:

  • positioning an ultrasonic transducer on a surface of the body, wherein the transducer has an operative surface disposed to direct ultrasonic waves toward the interior body region;

    positioning a reflective medium within the body;

    emitting ultrasonic waves from the operative surface of the ultrasonic transducer onto the reflective medium, whereby the reflective medium redirects at least a portion of the ultrasonic waves toward the wound sufficient to promote healing of the wound.
