1. A method of processing calls in a switch of a communication system, the method comprising the steps of:

  • establishing an association in the switch between a first user terminal and at least one other terminal of the system, based on proximity of the first terminal to the other terminal, wherein the proximity of the first terminal to the other terminal is determined at least in part utilizing a cell identifier of the first terminal and a cell identifier of the other terminal, the cell identifier for a given one of the terminals specifying a cell of the system in which the given terminal is currently located; and

    permitting a user assigned to the first terminal to access functions of the other terminal while the association exists.
