1. A hip attachment assembly for attaching to a bone, said hip attachment assembly comprising:

  • a hip component defining a main body, said hip component having an extension for mating with a ball, said hip component further including an inferior surface operable to engage a surface of the bone and a sleeve extending from said inferior surface, said hip component being formed from a single member;

    an anchor operable to anchor said bone attachment assembly to the bone, said anchor having a mating member; and

    a compliant portion operable to be expanded and contracted slidably disposed and contained within said sleeve;

    said sleeve being slidably engaged with said mating member to substantially inhibit non-axial deflection of said compliant member;

    said compliant portion being operably associated with said anchor and with said hip component.
