1. A nail polish kit for mammalian nails comprising:
- (I) a basecoat composition comprising;
(a) from about 0.1 % to about 20%, by weight of the composition, of a water-insoluble film-forming polyurethane polymer; and
(b) a liquid diluent comprising;
(i) from about 10% to about 90%, by weight of the composition, of a volatile organic solvent; and
(ii) at least about 8%, by weight of the composition, water; and
(II) a topcoat composition comprising;
from about 0.1% to about 40%, by weight of the composition, of a water-insoluble, film-forming, water-borne polymer selected from the group consisting of polyacryls, polymethacryls, styrene-acryl copolymers, and mixtures thereof; and
at least about 30%, by weight of the composition, water.
