1. A method for producing a diamond-tiled workpiece, comprising:

  • providing a workpiece having at least one ceramic surface, said ceramic surface comprising a ceramic binder including a porcelain enamel;

    layering diamond particles on said at least one ceramic surface to produce a substantially contiguous layer of said diamond particles;

    heating the ceramic binder to at least a glass transition temperature of the porcelain enamel; and

    cooling the ceramic binder so that diamond particles are bonded to the workpiece via the ceramic binder to thereby produce a substantially contiguous diamond-tiled coating layer.
