1. An implantable cardiac defibrillation lead comprising:

  • an elongated lead body having a proximal and a distal end;

    an electrical connector at said proximal end;

    a first defibrillation electrode near said distal end, and an electrical conductor electrically connecting said electrical connector and said electrode, the electrical conductor including a conductive wire having a first end and a second end, said wire being folded into a bend at a point substantially midway along said wire and positioned in said lead body such that said bend is near one end of said lead body and both said first and second ends are near the other end of said lead body, said defibrillation electrode comprising at least one wire having a plurality of coils wrapped around a portion of said lead body, said electrode having a distal end and a proximal end, and a connection between two of the conductive wire of said electrical conductor and said electrode, said connection being between said distal end and said proximal end of said coiled electrode and spaced distally away from said proximal end of said electrode.
