1. A method for establishing call pickup groups in a wireless communication system having a wireless switching system, base stations and a plurality of wireless terminals, comprising the steps of:

  • determining that a one of the plurality of wireless terminals is in a one of a plurality of locations of the wireless communication system;

    establishing inter-wireless terminal communication by the one of the plurality of wireless terminals with other ones of the plurality of wireless terminals in the one of the plurality of locations that are in a call pickup group for the one of the plurality of locations in response to the determination that the one of the plurality of terminals is in the one of the plurality of locations; and

    joining the call pickup group for the one of the plurality of locations by the one of the plurality of wireless terminals in response to the established communication.
