1. A radio communication device comprising:
- a body of equipment formed by two body-regions being joined together, said body of equipment is bendable at a joined portion and insertable into an external terminal unit and separable from the external terminal unit;
a connector provided on one of said body-regions to be connected with the external terminal unit;
a microphone provided on said body of equipment to input a sound signal;
a speaker provided on said body of equipment to output a sound signal;
a modulation-demodulation section in the body of equipment to modulate and demodulate the data relating to the external terminal unit and a sound signal; and
at least a switch provided on said one of body-regions to input a dialed information, wherein said switch is covered by a body of the external terminal unit so as to be in an unaccessible state, when said one of body-regions is inserted into the external terminal unit.

Abstract
An IC card-type radio communication device includes a main body of equipment, a storage unit, a sound input unit, a sound output unit and a modulation-demodulation unit. The main body of equipment has an interface which is in accordance with a predetermined standard and forms a physical shape which is in accordance with the standard. The main body of equipment is inserted into an entry installed on an external terminal unit. The storage unit is installed on the main body of equipment and stores an attribute information and an information necessary for data communication with the terminal unit. The sound input unit inputs a sound signal when a conversation is executed and the sound output unit outputs the sound signal. The modulation-demodulation unit modulates and demodulates data of the terminal unit on the basis of the information stored in the storage unit when the main body of equipment is inserted into the entry installed on the terminal unit, and modulates and demodulates the sound signal when the conversation is executed.

5. A radio communication device according to claim 1, further comprising:

information storage means for storing specific information; and
control means for exchanging the information stored in said information storage means between said information storage means and the external terminal unit when the body of equipment is inserted into an entry installed on the external terminal unit.

6. A radio communication device according to claim 5, further comprising:

input means for inputting a personal identification password as a personal information; and
wherein said control means writes the personal identification password inputted from said input means into said information storage means and checks the password between said information storage means and the external terminal unit.

7. A radio communication device according to claim 1, further comprising:
invalidating means for invalidating the dialed information inputted by said switch when said body of equipment is inserted into the external terminal unit.

a display disposed in a second of said two body-regions to display information.

9. A radio communication device comprising:

a body of equipment formed by two body-regions which are detachably joined together and one of the body-regions is insertable into an external terminal unit;
a connector provided on one of said body-regions to be connected with the external terminal unit;
a microphone provided on said body of equipment to input a sound signal;
a speaker provided on said body of equipment to output a sound signal;
a modulation-demodulation section in the body of equipment to modulate and demodulate the data relating to the external terminal unit and a sound signal; and
at least a switch provided on said one of body-regions to input a dialed information, wherein said switch is covered by a body of said external terminal unit so as to be in an unaccessible state, when said one of body-regions is inserted into the external terminal unit. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)
invalidating means for invalidating the dialed information transmitted from said switch when said switch is inserted into the external terminal unit.

voltage conversion means for receiving an electric power supplied from a power supply installed on the external terminal unit to convert a predetermined voltage into another voltage; and

_p1 a battery to supply the power to the microphone, the speaker and at least one portion of the modulation-demodulation section when the body of equipment is not inserted into the external terminal unit, and said battery is charged when the body of equipment is inserted into the external terminal unit; and
at least a switch provided on said one of body-regions to input a dialed information, and wherein said switch is covered by a body of said external terminal unit so as to be in an unaccessible state, when said one of body-regions is inserted into the external terminal unit. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
display means for displaying a charging state of said battery which is charged by the electric power supplied from the power supply of the external terminal unit.

a second battery;
wherein said second battery is connected to the body of equipment through an interface when a conversation is executed, and the body of equipment is connected to the entry installed on the external terminal unit removing said second battery from the body of equipment when the data communication is executed.

voltage conversion means for receiving said electric power supplied from said power supply of the external terminal unit and for converting a predetermined voltage into another voltage; and

a body of equipment insertable into an external terminal unit, wherein the body of equipment comprises a first region inserted into a body of the external terminal unit and a second region which remains outside the body of the external terminal unit when the body of equipment is inserted;
a connector provided on said first region to be connected with the external terminal unit;
a microphone provided on said body of equipment to input a sound signal;
a speaker provided on said body of equipment to output a sound signal;
a modulation-demodulation section in the body of equipment to modulate and demodulate data relating to the external terminal unit and a sound signal; and
at least a switch provided on said first region for inputting a dialed information, wherein said switch is covered by a body of said external terminal unit so as to be in an unaccessible state, when said first region is inserted into the external terminal unit. - View Dependent Claims (22)

23. A portable telephone comprising:

a body formed by a first body region, a second body region having a first side extending along a first direction and an opposite side, and a joining portion provided at first side of the second body region, wherein the first body region and the second body region are joined together by the joining portion physically and electrically, and thereby the first region is foldable to the second region and openable from the second region to a predetermined angle, wherein an outside shape of the first region is sized to dimensions of an IC card defined in the standard of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association, and is insertable to an IC card slot provided within an external terminal unit, and is covered by the IC card slot of the external terminal unit, and wherein the first region includes a first connector which is connected to a second connector provided within the IC card slot of the external terminal unit, the first and second connectors are according to the standard of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association;
a microphone provided on said body to input a sound signal;
a speaker provided on said body to output a sound signal;
a modulation-demodulation section provided in the body to modulate and demodulate data relating to the external terminal unit and the sound signal;
a switch to input a dialed information, said switch is provided to the first region of said body so that the switch is covered by the IC card slot of the external terminal unit and the switch is in an inaccessible state where the first region of said body is inserted into the IC card slot;
a display to display information, said display disposed in the second region of said body so that said display displays the information at outside of the external terminal unit where the first region of said body is inserted into the IC card slot of the external terminal unit and the first and second connectors are connected to each other; and
an antenna to transfer and receive the data and sound signal, said antenna is provided in the second region of said body and extended from the opposite side of the second region and along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

wherein the first body region and the second body region are joined together by the joining portion physically and electrically, and thereby the first region is foldable to the second region and openable from the second region to a predetermined angle;
wherein the first region includes a first connector which is connected to a second connector provided within an IC card slot of an external unit, the first and second connectors are according to the standard of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association;
a microphone provided on said first body to input a sound signal;
a speaker provided on the second body region of said body to output a sound signal;
a modulation-demodulation section provided in the body to modulate and demodulate data relating to the external terminal unit and the sound signal;
a keypad to input information, said keypad is provided to the first body region of said body so that the keypad is covered by the IC card slot of the external terminal unit and the keypad is in an inaccessible state when the first body region of said body is inserted into the IC card slot;
a display to display information, said display is disposed in the second body region of said body; and
an antenna to transfer and receive the data and sound signal, said antenna is disposed in the second body region of said body, wherein an outside shape of the first region of said body is sized to dimensions of an IC card defined in the standard of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association, and is insertable to the IC card slot provided within the external terminal unit, and is covered by the IC card slot of the external terminal unit.

25. A portable telephone comprising:

wherein the first body region and the second body region are joined together by the joining portion physically and electrically, and thereby the first region is foldable to the second region and openable from the second region to a predetermined angle;
wherein the first region includes a first connector which is connected to a second connector provided within an IC card slot of an external unit, the first and second connectors are according to the standard of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association;
a microphone provided on said first body to input a sound signal;
a speaker provided on the second body region of said body to output a sound signal;
a modulation-demodulation section provided in the body to modulate and demodulate data relating to the external terminal unit and the sound signal;
a keypad to input information, said keypad is provided to the first body region of said body so that the keypad is covered by the IC card slot of the external terminal unit and the keypad is in an inaccessible state when the first body region of said body is inserted into the IC card slot;
a display to display information, said display is disposed in the second body region of said body; and
an antenna to transfer and receive the data and sound signal;
wherein an outside shape of the first region of said body is sized to dimensions of an IC card defined in the standard of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association, and is insertable to the IC card slot provided within the external terminal unit, and is covered by the IC card slot of the external terminal unit.
