1. A method of determining a location of a wireless mobile unit, comprising the steps of:

  • determining a distance between the wireless mobile unit and a multi-sector antenna belonging to a base station receiving a signal from the wireless mobile unit;

    determining an angle of arrival of the signal from stored angle measurements using at least two different antenna sector signal measurements of the signal as received at the base station, wherein angle measurements are stored in correspondence with antenna sector measurements of at least two different sectors of the multi-sector antenna; and

    determining the location of the wireless mobile unit from the received signal based upon the determined distance and the angle of the received signal.
