1. An intravascular system for the administration of ionizing radiation, comprising:

  • a centering catheter including a shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end, a centering balloon disposed adjacent the distal end of the shaft, a source lumen extending through the shaft, and a guidewire lumen extending through the shaft distal of the centering balloon;

    an elongate radiation source disposed in the source lumen of the centering catheter, the radiation source including a radioactive distal portion; and

    a guidewire extending adjacent and exterior to the balloon and through the guidewire lumen, the guidewire having a perfusion lumen extending from a point proximal of the balloon to a point distal of the balloon such that blood may perfuse across the balloon when in an inflated state.
