1. An organic electroluminescent device comprising a hole injecting electrode, an electron injecting electrode, and at least one organic layer interleaved between both said electrodes, wherein:

  • said hole injecting electrode comprises a transparent electrode at a light emitting area, and a metal electrode located at a portion other than said light emitting area and connected to said transparent electrode, and having a sheet resistance of 1 Ω

    or lower, wherein said metal electrode is connected to all the peripheral area of the transparent electrode, and wherein an insulating layer is provided on the metal electrode for insulation of the portion other than the light emitting area.
