1. A device for high-purity filtering and disinfecting air in an air stream, comprising:

  • a housing, a fine-dust filter and a fan arranged on said housing for drawing an air stream into said housing through said fine-dust filter, an elongate air flow tube arranged on said housing and receiving at a first end thereof for flow therethrough said air stream from said housing, means inside said elongate air flow tube for disinfecting the air in said air stream by destroying microorganisms while simultaneously creating noxious fumes, a main filter for removing the microorganisms from the air stream and an activated carbon filter for removing the noxious fumes, all arranged in series inside said tube, and a discharge cone arranged at a second end of said air flow tube remote from said first end and adjacent said activated carbon filter to define an air outlet gap through which the air stream from said activated carbon filter directly exits the second end of said tube.
