1. A method for providing site-specific instruction to a worker for a selected one of a plurality of work sites, comprising the steps of:
- providing a relational database;
providing a plurality of instruction and test sites which are geographically separate from each other and from the work sites;
storing in the relational database and as keyed to respective work sites, a plurality of site-specific questions and model answers thereto;
storing in the relational database and as keyed to respective work sites, a predetermined pass/fail criterion;
electronicaly connecting the test sites to the relational database;
at one of the test sites, verifying the identity of a worker;
at the last said test site, identifying the worker to the relational database;
selecting a particular work site for which the worker is to be instructed with a site-specific course and for which a site-specific course is to be administered;
administering a computer-aided course to the worker keyed co the selected work site;
assembling a test from the site-specific questions concerning the selected work site;
at the conclusion of the computer-aided course, administering the assembled test;
using the model answers to the site-specific questions, grading the test;
comparing the test results to the pass/fail criterion for the selected site-specific test; and
if the worker has passed the test, informing the relational database.

Abstract
A testing system, particularly directed at contract workers, permits computer-aided instruction and testing at each of a plurality of testing sites. Different tests are created and administered for each of a plurality of work sites, which can be selected by the prospective contract worker. Whether the worker passed a particular site-specific test is stored in a database, which is turn is accessible by the work site management. The system has particular application to safety instruction and testing as mandated by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
