Abstract

The invention relates to an alkali-free aluminoborosilicate glass which has the following composition in % by weight, based on oxide: SiO₂ 60.5-69, B₂O₃ 0.5-4.5, Al₂O₃ 15-24, MgO 3-10, CaO 0-10, SrO 0.5-8, BaO 0.5-5.5, with MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO 8-19, SnO₂ 0.1-2, ZrO₂ 0-2, TiO₂ 0-2, CeO₂ 0-1, ZnO 0-<1, and which is highly suitable for use as substrate glass both in display technology and thin-film photovoltaics.

Claims

1. An alkali-free aluminoborosilicate glass comprising the following composition in % by weight, based on oxide:

5. The aluminoborosilicate glass according to claim 1, wherein the glass comprises at least 0.1% by weight of CeO₂.

6. The aluminoborosilicate glass according to claim 1, wherein the glass comprises <

7. The aluminoborosilicate glass according to claim 1, wherein the glass comprises the following composition in % by weight, based on oxide:

9. The aluminoborosilicate glass according to claim 1, wherein the glass is produced in a float plant, wherein, apart from unavoidable impurities, the glass is free from arsenic oxide and antimony oxide.
