1. A method of wagering on pari-mutual race having a predetermined number of participants, each participant having a corresponding numerical indicia assigned thereto, comprising the steps of:
- selecting at least two numbers prior to the race which correspond to the participants therein and providing same as selected positions;
determining an order of finish of the participants after the race;
combining the numerical indicia of the participants which finish the race in the selected positions and providing the same as a first combination; and
comparing the first combination of numerical indicia to a preselected number independent of the order of finish in the race.

A method of application of popular casino, lottery, and sports games formatted and modified specifically for the parimutuel race industry. The invention games possess unique rules and formats to govern their play within parimutuel race wagering while reflecting existing games from casinos, lotteries and sports. Wagers are placed electronically with parimutuel race operators who retain a percentage of all bets as determined by individual state law. Outcomes of the invention games are determined by their unique rules and interpretation of current parimutuel racing results.

selecting two numbers prior to the race which correspond to positions of two of the participants upon completion of the race and providing same as selected positions;
determining an order of finish of the participants upon completion of the race;
adding the numerical indicias of the participants which finish the race in the selected positions and providing the same as a sum; and
comparing the sum to a preselected number, the preselected number selected independent of the order of finish of the race. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)
selecting a second two numbers prior to the race which correspond to the positions of two of the participants upon completion of the race and providing same as second selected positions;
adding the numerical indicias of the participants which finish the race in the second selected positions and providing the same as a second sum; and
comparing the second sum to the first sum and to the preselected number.

11. The method of claim 10 further comprising the additional steps of placing a wager prior to the race on the selected positions and receiving a payout if the first sum is closer than the second sum to the preselected number.

12. The method of claim 7 further comprising the additional steps of placing a wager prior to the race on the selected positions and receiving a payout on the wager in response to the sum being less than the preselected number.

16. A method of wagering on pari-mutuel race having a predetermined number of participants, each participant sequentially numbered with numerical indicia, comprising the steps of:

providing a plurality of players, each player selecting two positions prior to the race which correspond to possible positions of the participants upon completion of the race and placing a wager thereon;
determining an order of finish of the participants upon completion of the race;
adding the numerical indicia of the participants which finish the race in the selected positions for each player and providing the same as a player sum; and
