1. A method of biasing an operational amplifier having differential input field effect transistors and a tail current field effect transistor, comprising:

  • using a band gap voltage source to bias said differential input field effect transistors in a manner that a difference between a drain-to-source voltage (Vds) and a saturation voltage (Vdsat) for each of said differential input field effect transistors is maintained substantially constant; and

    using said band gap voltage source to bias said tail current transistor in a manner that a difference between a drain-to-source voltage (Vds) and a saturation voltage (Vdsat) for said tail current transistor is maintained substantially constant.
