- an attenuation circuit for providing attenuation to an AC signal and substantially less attenuation to a DC signal, the attenuation circuit being coupled to the first capacitor; and
a discharging circuit for discharging the first capacitor in response to the DC signal from the attenuation circuit.

a triac having a control lead coupled to the diodes;
a second resistor coupled to the triac and first capacitor so as to discharge the first capacitor when the triac conducts, the triac conducting when the first capacitor is disconnected from an AC source.
