Abstract
An optical imaging apparatus comprising a linear array-based camera, using a positional encoding technique highly insensitive to transient and steady state mechanical tolerances in the mechanical scanning system, with the capacity to capture a three dimensional image of a part with enough precision to allow accurate measurements of the part'"'"'s features to be made.
