1. A laminate structure comprising a first material layer having a first and second surface, a barrier layer of a resin composition disposed on the first surface of the first layer, and a second material layer disposed on at least one of the second surface of the first layer or the barrier layer;

  • in which said resin composition comprises;

    (a) a polyvinyl alcohol resin having a saponification degree of not less than 70% and (b) an inorganic laminar compound having an aspect ratio of 200 to 3000 having a layered crystal structure, wherein unit crystal layers are mutually stacked to form said layered structure, and said inorganic laminar compound is swollen or cleft when in a solvent;

    said composition has a volume ratio of;

    inorganic laminar compound/polyvinyl alcohol, in the range of 5/95 to 30/70, and said laminate structure exhibits an oxygen permeability of not more than 0.5 cc/m2-day-atm under the condition of 30°

    C. and 60% relative humidity.
