1. A method for implementing information services patterns associated with a relational database management system in an object-oriented persistence architecture, comprising the steps of:

  • (a) translating an object attribute to and from a database value utilizing a database;

    (b) controlling data in the database utilizing a data retrieval mechanism encapsulated in a data handler;

    (c) organizing data access to the database among a plurality of business entities utilizing a plurality of business objects;

    (d) retrieving multiple business objects across a network in one access operation;

    (e) mapping retrieved data into objects; and

    (f) providing a warning upon retrieval of objects missing at least one attribute, wherein the warning includes information on how to handle the at least one missing attribute.
