1. A system that detects a fault condition in a three-phase motor comprising:

  • a power module having a plurality of switches arranged in a three-phase inverter configuration to provide three phase current flow through the motor;

    a power line connected to the power module;

    a sensor having an input, the input being electrically coupled to the power line;

    a filter electrically coupled to an output of the sensor; and

    a controller having an input and an output electrically coupled to the filter, in which the output of the controller provides a signal to tune the filter to a rotational frequency of the motor, and the input of the controller receives a signal that identifies a fault condition when compared to a predetermined value by the controller.
